Objectives
COST Action TRANSCOLONCAN aims at using innovative translational research to identify colorectal cancer biomarkers for personalized medicine that will improve screening, early detection and disease follow-up, and attain better tumor profiling, state-of-the-art functional characterization of genetic variants and new therapy approaches
- 1
Research Coordination Objectives
To reduce the fragmented research between researchers working on CRC.
To network researchers working in different CRC fields with final common objective.
To optimize the processes involved in the prevention, screening and CRC management.
To jointly develop scientific guidelines/recommendations for the different methodologies used.
To aim towards FAIR data stewardship, i.e. Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable.
To use results derived from this Action as input for future market applications. - 2
Capacity Building Objectives
To foster knowledge, exchange and creation of synergies to develop a joint research agenda.
To bring into an interdisciplinary network separate scientific disciplines.
To remain open for new interested groups working on this field.
To highlight training, particularly for early career investigators (ECI) and ITC researchers.
To consider constantly ECI and comply with gender balance and ITC policies.
To assure an educative and promoting role of the Action.
To integrate, disseminate and exploit all knowledge and data from TRANSCOLONCAN
